Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC) in 2012, General Secretary Xi Jinping has led the whole Party and people of all ethnic groups in advancing the great cause of the Party and the state. In this process, he has made a series of key statements on education reform and development in light of a shifting global landscape, national development goals, and the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation. These statements focus on the fundamental questions of what kind of talent should be trained, how, and for whom, and define the fundamental mission of education as building strong moral character.
